The "What" Behind Our Mission
CAYA currently offers the following services:
Food Pantry: Our pantry is open on Tuesdays and Fridays from 10 am – 12:30 pm. Each family can receive food assistance one time per month.
Emergency Food Assistance: For those who are unable to come to our office, groceries are delivered to homes when people call for food.
Financial Assistance: When funds are available, this is a means by which we help people toward rent, gas, and other utility bills.
Bible Study and Counseling: Although we desire to meet the physical needs of those we serve, we are compelled to address the spiritual and emotional needs of all who come our way.
Financial Counseling: Both the materially poor and the materially non-poor struggle with healthy stewardship of their financial resources. It is our goal to help people become good stewards of all that God has given to them.
Job Preparedness Training: Many of the materially poor in our community are unemployed or underemployed. The purpose of this program is to help them to be better prepared as they jump into today's job market.
Clothing Closet: The closet is designed to assist families to stretch their clothing budget and to help women who are entering or the workforce and who need professional attire for a job interview or to go to their job.
Furniture & Household Items: We regularly receive used furniture, electronics and household items that we turn around and give away to those who need them.
Summer Lunch Program: We prepare and deliver sack lunches to children who would normally receive a free or reduced price lunch during the school year.
